The French Butter Keeper is designed to keep your butter or margarine fresh as well as soft and spreadable. Soften a stick of butter to room temperature and then pack tightly into the top section with a knife or spoon. Fill the bottom piece about half full with cold water. (Water seals the butter away from the air, so it does not oxidize) For storage, invert the top into the base and keep it out on your table or counter - no refrigeration necessary. Remove top and turn over to serve. Completely clean your butter keeper before filling with more butter. In hot weather, simply add an ice cube to the water to keep it cool.
All pottery is microwave, dishwasher, and oven safe. Each piece is hand-made, designs and color variations are normal.
